The chaper of Deliverance from Bondage:
Expounding on the thoughts that I recieve while reading this chapter
Verse 2: For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin in death.
-We are no longer bound to the law that is of the old covenant, and we no longer have excuse to sin for this scripture. The spirit of Christ has set us free from the law of sin which equals death.
vers 4- so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the spirit.
-If we are living by the spirit, we will not carry out the desires of our human nature, our flesh
Verse 10 and 11- If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of rightousness.
-due to the law of sin, we are alive only through Christ. A life in sin is a life that only has death, but a life that is lived with Christ has only righteousness.
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in yo, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His spirit who dwells in you.
-Jesus was fully God and fully man, so the same spirit that rose Christ from the dead dwells in us, because we have been adopted by the father, in the following verses. That means that everything that Jesus did. Raising the dead, healing the sick, demons being cast out can be done through us. It is in his word and if we just choose to live out the power of the word of God, then we can and will see God's power expressed through us.
14-For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15- For you have not receieved a spirit of slavery, leading to fear again, but you have recieved a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, abba father!
We are not slaves to sin, but slaves to righteousness through the sonship of God through Christ Jesus.
Jesus was fully God and fully man and was the ultimate example. Fully God, allowing himself to rise from the dead, yet also man, allowing us to do everything that he did and more. There is so much depth to the word of God that we tend to look over when we are reading passages, and if the church would grasp ahold of this, people's lives would never be the same again.
Our Victory in Christ:
26- In the same way the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit himself interceedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
-Christ helps us when we are weak and interceedes for us to the father. To think that Jesus is not only praying, but groaning and interceeding for the things that are best for us, are mind boogling to me. Jesus was the ultimate example of love and humbleness.
28- and we know that God causes all things to work for the good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
- a promise of protection by an almighty God, for we are his sons and daughters, and he will take care of us.
38- For I am convinced that neither deather , nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present , nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, or any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of GOd, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Nothing can separate us from the Love of GOD!
